One Man & His Dog?
Pencil, 11.5in x 11.5in, W&N cartridge
paper, 100lbs.
It is said that dogs and their owners begin to look like
each other after a time. Clearly this was in Brian Froud's
mind when he drew the original illustration that appeared in "The World
of Froud" published by Bantam Books in 1977.
In this copy I have lengthened the faces a little so
that the dog more resembles a Lurcher cross that lives not far from me.
The Lurcher answers to the name of Godfrey and his owner, I hasten to
add, looks nothing like the chap depicted here.
