Stormy Passage Watercolour on 140lb Langton paper. Nominally 11.5in x 16.5in. The initial attempt at this painting was a practice piece using the "wet on wet" technique. Then I was shown a reproduction of a painting by H.B.Carter who lived and worked in the Scarborough area during the mid-nineteenth century. So I thought I would try to emulate it and I re-worked my exercise in H.B.Carter's style and came up with my first active seascape. Painted December 2005 |
