After seeing a photograph of this beautiful creature in the RSPB "Birds" magazine during the summer of 2006 I just had to paint it.  It was a defining moment.  Although I had never used acrylic paint before I felt that it was the appropriate medium to use.  So I bought the paint and produced my first acrylic painting.
